35 Digital Nomads in the Ski Workation in Coliving.frilingue

35 DIGITAL NOMADS FROM 15 NATIONS AT A WORKATION IN THE SWISS MOUNTAINS

January 24, 2023 - by Lorenz Ramseyer - in Mountains, Coliving, Community, Coworking, Freedom, Swiss border area, Workation

As far as I know, this is the biggest workation with international digital nomads that has ever taken place in Switzerland.

Coliving at the end of Switzerland, just before Italy

Philippe and Stefan's two Frilingue coliving spaces in the Valais are located in Liddes and Bourg-St-Pierre, on the transit route from Martigny to Aosta, just before the Italian border. A somewhat remote area, but nevertheless wonderful for making a few turns in the snow and working on your projects with plenty of internet speed.

Workation 2023 - ski pass for the whole season for about 80 euros.

You really have to read it twice, yes it's not a scam, not a fake, no small print... The ski pass is available for only 80 euros for the whole season. In big ski resorts, this is the price you often pay for a single day. Sure, there are a few small but fine ski resorts that have joined forces here and offer a pass for this unbeatable price.

Ideal for digital nomads who are not on skis every minute

At Workation, people usually work in the morning in the coworking space and in the afternoon they go in small groups by private transport to one of the hearty and manageable ski resorts. If you don't ski or snowboard, you can also build an igloo or go sledding in the valley.

Young community - backpacker style, uncomplicated and happy in the snow

I had the chance to spend a few days with the community in Valais and have exciting conversations.

Sven from Holland is a system administrator and Master's student. He has now spent a month here and his snowboarding skills have improved massively, as he shows me right away when we go boarding together on the slopes in the afternoon.

Theo from the UK actually wanted to move back to London, but when he saw the rent prices there, he decided at short notice to take his work as an AI Earth Observer (analysing satellite images) with him to Switzerland. He now saves a lot of money, goes skiing every day and has a lot of fun with the community.

Next year hopefully with more Swiss Nomads

Maybe next year we will be able to inspire members of the Swiss association dnch to spend a few days in the Valais at the Workation, it's definitely worth it!
