About Bourg St Pierre
Bourg St. Pierre - the last village before Italy, saw thousands of pilgrims and various armies pass by - including those of Julius Caesar and Napoleon Bonaparte. You too will discover a few remains from bygone times, including one of the oldest church towers in Switzerland (1000 years),
Bourg-St-Pierre is located in the mountains at 1632 meters above sea level, in wild, snow-covered landscapes far from the hustle and bustle of the cities.
One of the variants of the Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt touches Bourg-St-Pierre and continues from here towards the Matterhorn.

Getting There
Bourg St. Pierre is the last village in the Val d'Entremont and lies at 1632 meters above sea level.
If you continue, you will come to Italy in the Vale d'Aosta. Either through the road tunnel or over the St. Bernhard Pass (2500 meters above sea level).
Bourg St. Pierre is connected to Martigny several times a day by public transport. You will find an overview below: www.sbb.ch
The bus station is 100 meters from the hostel / coliving.

Bourg - St Pierre has four restaurants.
Shops
There is a small kiosk in Bourg. There are grocery stores in Liddes. Coop and Migros in Sembrancher.
Indoor swimming pool
There is an indoor swimming pool in the village. The water is heated to 29 degrees Celsius. With the St. Bernhard Pass you can use the indoor pool for free.
Sauna
There is a small infrared sauna in the Petit Velan. The Hotel Napoleon has a larger sauna facility with a sauna, Turkish bath and a beautifully designed relaxation zone. The entrance fee is 20 francs.
SAC Huts
There are two SAC huts in the municipality of Bourg St Pierre:
Caban Velan (2600 meters above sea level)
Caban Valsorey (3000 meters above sea level)
Ski Lifts
The "La Lorette" ski lift is at the entrance to the village. It is ideal for the first 3-4 days of your skiing career.
Ski touring
There are tons of ski touring options in the Bourg area.
